JEFFREY MIKSIS

2021 INDUCTEE TO THE RHODE ISLAND AQUATIC HALL OF FAME

       Jeff Miksis, a Rhode Island resident since 1999 presently resides in Cumberland, RI.  Jeff was an outstanding swimmer at the Peddie School in New Jersey before moving to Rhode Island and enrolling as a student at Brown University.  Jeff’s accomplishments at Brown University were amazing:  University record holder in the 200 yard freestyle, 500 yard freestyle, 200 yard individual medley, and 800 yard freestyle relay.  Jeff was a United States Senior National finalist, Olympic Trial Qualifier, Ivy League Champion, and much more. He graduated in 2003 and attended graduate school at Bryant University until 2007. 

              After swimming in college and beyond, Jeff decided to coach here in Rhode Island.  Jeff began his coaching career at the East Providence Boys and Girls Club in 2010 and immediately had a positive impact.  Many of his swimmers performed well in the RIMA League and age group United States Swimming.  He later joined the coaching staff of Envious Swimming and became the Senior Head Coach.  Again, many of the swimmers, under his tutelage, had success at the New England Senior level and United States Junior Nationals.  Jeff continues to coach swimmers of all ages and abilities.  He is now the owner and Head Coach of Anglerfish Aquatics in Cumberland, RI. 

              In addition to coaching age group swimming, Jeff has been deeply involved coaching United States Masters Swimming with many of the United States Masters involved in the Anglerfish Aquatic Program crediting him with their development and success.
