1983 Special Award of Recognition
Brother Antony’s contribution and service to athletic programs, especially to competitive swimming, has been outstanding. As Athletic Director at LaSalle Academy, from 1946 to 1974, he revived swimming at that school, and was a leader in advancing competitive swimming as a major varsity sport in the Rhode Island Interscholastic League. He was the first president of the R.I. Interscholastic Swim Officials Association and was a recipient of the Joseph Tracey Award, in 1973, from the organization.
