 14 INDUCTION TO THE RHODE ISLAND AQUATIC HALL OF FAME

Dr. Frank McGovern began his competitive swimming experience while swimming as a 7th grader for Hugh B. Bain School in Cranston. Frank also swam for the Cranston YMCA which led him to an outstanding competitive high school swimming career at Cranston East High School. White swimming for Cranston East, Frank was on the Rhode Island Interscholastic All State Team. Upon graduation, Frank continued his successful swim career at Johns Hopkins University. At Johns Hopkins, Frank achieved All American status three (3) times and was on three (3) Division Ill National Championship teams as well as Mid-Atlantic Conference Championship teams. Frank continues to swim and competes successfully in triathlons. Notably, Frank emphasizes the positive contributions his high school swimming experiences have had on his surgical career.
