JANICE MARONEY KASETA
1999 INDUCTION TO THE RHODE ISLAND AQUATIC HALL OF FAME
During the past 23 years, Janice Maroney Kaseta has become one of the Red Cross top volunteers. Although she was a competitive swimmer as a youngster, her major contributions to aquatics have been in the area of Water Safety, where she is recognized as a leader in the field. She has spent countless hours volunteering to promote water safety and teaching children to swim.
Janice has taught well over 300 classes in Water Safety Instruction, Lifeguard Instruction, First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. She has served as the Health and Safety Chair of the Mass Bay Committee and on the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross, Mass Bay Chapter. Janice also served as National American Red Cross faculty member for the latest Lifeguarding Today program and for the implementation of the revised lifeguarding program. In 1991, Kaseta was a recipient of the Outstanding Young Women of America Award.
Janice presently travels the United States and overseas teaching Water Safety Courses as a Red Cross volunteer.
