GREG LAMOREAUX

2016 INDUCTION TO THE RHODE ISLAND AQUATIC HALL OF FAME

Greg received an early aquatic start as an age group swimmer at the local YMCA followed by high school swimming in his native State of Pennsylvania. After high school, Greg continued his competitive swimming career at the University of Delaware. In addition, he served as a swimming instructor, lifeguard, and Water Safety Instructor for the American Red Cross.

Greg is being honored by the Hall of Fame for his outstanding service to aquatics in his role as a USA Swimming Official throughout New England as well as a Meet Referee at the NCAA Level. Greg has served as a United States-Swimming Official (observer) for Rhode Island

Interscholastic Swimming for more than a decade. His record as a-USA Club Swimming official is too long to list in this brief biography, having served at over 100 Club meets. At The college level, he serves as the NCAA Certified Official’s scheduling coordinator for college meets in Rhode Island and has also served as Referee for Providence College for over 15 years and for Brown University for more than 12 years. He was the Head Referee at the 2013 Ivy League Championships and currently serves as Meet Referee for the Big East Swimming and Diving Championships (2014-2016). Locally, Greg has been a leader in the Narragansett Swim League volunteering his time. A Board Member of the Greenwich Swim Club, he has lead the effort to organize and develop the Narragansett Swim League meet schedule. Greg has also served as the Meet Referee for the NSL Summer Championship All Pool Meet for many years.
