JAMES PAUL KINLOCH
2014 INDUCTION TO THE RHODE ISLAND AQUATIC HALL OF FAME
Paul Kinloch was a great swimmer from the Providence YMCA and the Cranston Swim
Club during the late 1050’s and into the 1960’s. He was a YMCA champion, Rhode Island Age Group champion, and a New England Age Group champion. In addition, Paul captained and led his Cranston East teams to Rhode Island Interscholastic State championships, Brown
Interscholastic championship titles and New England Interscholastic championships. He attended and competed for Brown University, again being elected Captain of his university team. Paul was as successful in life as in swimming. As a young man, age 38, Paul was diagnosed with severe kidney disease. Yet, after transplant surgery, Paul continued to successfully compete in swimming and participated in numerous transplant Olympic events.
